What is the cap on the top of the final drive? The bike I just got had this cap on with RTV and a screw down through the hole under the cap. This doesn't look right to me. How is this supposed to be assembled and what does it do?

What is the cap on the top of the final drive?
DO NOT MESS WITH THAT CAP.
Should you tamper with that cap, it's possible that next time someone rides it and exceeds 64.7 MPH the final drive will split from rear wheel. Can be very embarissing to be dragging but, and watch rear wheel passing ya on the highway.

Welcome to the group!
Do yourself a favor, especially if you just got this bike, and pull that final drive off to make sure that those splines are WELL greased where the driveshaft connects to it. That grease fitting on the top of the drivehaft housing will NOT lube those splines!!Hi...my name is Mike, and I'm a lane-splitter.
