Broken exhaust stud

OK all you Xs1100 gurus, just broke an exhaust stud! Any advice for me? I can't believe I did that! Any help offered would be appreciated. I still have enough stud left to get a good grip on it to try to turn it out but will that work? Thanks, Cameron

If you have access to a mig (Wire) welder, some have suggested puting a nut on the threads the best you can, then run a couple beads carefully around the INSIDE of the nut... welding the nut to what's left of the stud.
If you don't have a welder available, you might try threading a nut on what's left, then a second one on top of that (Double nut) then use a wrench on the first nut and try to back it out. Use lots of penetrating oil before actually trying to turn it out (After the welding is done obviously!)

OK before I could get my head planned I had to remove all the studs and the only way to get them out was to grind flat spots top and bottom or side to side so a wrench would not slip. Soak them down with penetrating oil and turn them out. I used an adjustable wrench.

go to sears and get the eazy out set the slides over the bolt and the tighter you turn on it the more it bites in i have 2 sets of them and they are great
