  • exhaust swap question

i am looking for a new or new to me exhaust, we all know NEW is too many $$$$'s. so my question is will a 79xs110h exhaust FIT on my 79xs1100sf? i have factory 4 into 2 and they have a aftermarket 4 into 1. which is what i am wanting 4 into 1. any help would be great.

The 4-1 can be made to fit. One of the problems will be the length of the exhaust flange studs. They will be shorter on a Special. Another is the angle of the muffler. If the 4-1 is intended to be for a Standard, then you will lose the upswept angle that you currently enjoy with the OEM Special pipes. The muffs on a Standard are more paralell to the ground, and will leave a big gap between the muffs and the mouting bracket. The pipes on my 80 SG are from a 78 E and those are the differences that I have encountered.

      Re: exhaust swap question

[Dave, you might as well save your old system if it isn't broken foreward of the muffs. You can toy around with Harley muffs to fix them.
