Hey, Mr. TopCat; I very much do appreciate the "mikesxs" info.
I just wonder if that "starter repair fix" that they're showing for the XS650, will fit perfectly for XS1100s? Some of that stuff, I can tell by looking, at their site page(s). Seems like they'd try to "unconfuse" the rider, by saying when it is .
>>XSchop >> thank you for your info; the buttons at Mikesxs, don't look to be what I'd call "billet". Did you get yours there?
the mikes xs ones will fit your xs1100 they are abs black plastic. The billet ones (www.freewebs.com/kibokojoe) will never u.v. rot and last a lifetime and then some...chop

Hey!...Trbig; .........
I hadn't forgotten yer gas tank question. I've had the Kawasaki Concours gas tank on there for 5 years, saved from a new Concours that I bot new in '86 (rode it for about 2 years); 6 years of the "3.9 gallon tank" on the XS before the Kawasaki tank attatchment/modification. One of the real benefits, is the extra weight up front, makes the machine handle completely different. Better. I try not to let the tank get more than about a gallon and a half down, before refilling; because the handling is so good carrying the weight of the full 7&1/2 gallons. Probably pushes the front end down, just a bit, changing the "rake" to an improved position. This machine has always had too much weight to the rear, anyhow.
In the near future, I'll take the pictures I need, of the entire machine with the tank, and pictures of the underside of the tank, showing what all I did knock in with a hammer and a torch; how the tank is "strapped" to the frame with "high-powered" zipties; AND will show what I did to get two XS11 Standard petcocks to fit to each side of the tank. The seat has to go back about an inch; you don't have to move the rail in back of the seat. I'll get it all on here...............(where to put the strips of innertube on the frame, so not to have "metal to metal").....everything. I'll make a new thread.
