  • Quick carb swap question

Hello everyone, i'm new to the site and to the xs11 alltogether.

i just bought a 1980 xs1100 special. so i don't know any of the history behind the bike.

anyways i've developed some carb problems and was wondering if i can replace my carb bank with a set from an 81 XS1100 H.

    any help would be appreciated.

    thanks,

If they were both stock, it is plug and play. You will need to synch the carbs and adjust idle and you will be good to go.

Down to one 1978 E. Stock air box with K&N filter, 81H pipes and carbs, 8500 feet elevation.

The carbs are pretty easy to work on, and even this "New" set may need some tweaking on before they will work for you. I, personally, would clean the originals up, then if a part was needed, use it off of the other set, then eventually order the replacement part for the one you canibalized.... but that's just me!... lol
