GETTING READY TO MAKE THE MAXIM SIDE COVERS ON MY XJ1100 SHINE I'M CONCERNED WITH THE CHROME LOOKING PART
- NOT SURE IF IT IS REALLY METAL- ANY TIPS OUT THERE?
Here's what I did. Get some gasket remover spray them down and use a clean rag and take off all the clear coat. apply and remove several time's until they look good. Next step is get a white buffing wheel and put it on a bench grinder. Use some of the white buffing compound and buff until they look like chrome.
Then put a good coat of wax on them.
You will want to do the hole bike when you see how great it works.
