  • Some PICs

I just signed up at photo bucket so I could attempt to load some pics into my posts. We will see if it works. If it dose I will add other pics of my current bike and hop up engine project in this thread.
First pic is my bike (1979 XS1100F) after a detail cleaning.

Makeshift spray booth. Bike was painted with spray bombs that were made up for me by a local saint shop for about 125 dollars

Yes I did the work myself. I used a dremel with the high speed carbide cutting tips. I used 3 of them in total but they made very fast work of the bulk of the material removal. Once the holes were very close to the gasket size I used a "standard abrasives" head port and polishing kit to smooth things out. Then i polished everything including the combustion chambers with a metal restoring polish. The whole job took about 8 to 10 hours to do. i left the intake side as is because those ports already match the carb boots even if not as smooth as a babies butt.

The hop up engine is not fully completed yet so it's not in the bike. I have 2 complete engines for this bike. One that came with the bike and one that I bought on e-bay . It is the e-Bay engine i am hopping up due to its lower mileage. I hope to have the hop up engine in this bike for fall riding. It would be nice to fine a real cheap rolling chassis beign that I have 2 engines.
Yes the bike was painted with spray cans.
