    Cleaning cone air filters?

This one is more of a quick survey, really: what does everyone do to clean their cone air filters? Do you follow the procedure typical of K&N type filters (what with the washing, then the oiling), or what?

I'm going to clean mine, and I was just wandering what everyone else does.

I ave the in-box K&N. When wife's away I toss it in the dishwasher. Later oil it and pop it back in. I'd think the cone type whould be just as easy.

        Hey Corey,

I did a search, and Motoman suggested some of those degreaser sprays. You don't want to use Carb Cleaner. As for frequency, depends on where you ride and how much. Anywhere from 3 months to 6 months depending on how dusty your riding environment is!

Once a year even tho it's not needed that often. I think K&N recommends every 100,000 miles. I don't ride that much. Once a year in the spring.

Thanks guys, lots of good input. I have a K&N filter charging/cleaning kit lleft over from an older car that I will put to use on them. Thanks again!
