I thought I might be able to help you out with a kit I have, but after looking at the Yamaha website it looks like the LH uses a different kit than the other 81 XS11's. It shows you need kit #4W1-W0042-00-00 for the LH. It doesn't look like it's available anymore from the dealer.
The kit I have fits H and SH # 2H7-W0042-00-00. If anyone needs this kit I'm asking $30 for it.-Tom.
Originally posted by John The 81 MNS uses the same brake setup an an XJ11. Some one here needed a kit a few weeks ago, and I think another member had one.
PN for the XJ is 10M-W0042-00-00 but I can't locate one of those either.

There are a few sellers of aftermarket rebuild kits on e-bay and the dealer can likely still get them for you. Dealer is of course more costly at around 80 bucks.

What dealer is that, Rob? I called SEVERAL, angering my wife, because I tied up the phone for 5 1/2 hours. I just told her I wanted to try to act like a chick once......... did you know there is a seam in the middle of the couch that hurts you back???????

My local dealer here I Ottawa Ont got them for me out of Toronto Yamaha warehouse. He also just received a crank shaft seal and a middle gear to engine gasket. I ordered the MC kit when the lad at e-Bay discovered that he did not have stock. From what my dealer tells me many of the normal wear and tear parts are still available . NO painted or cosmetic parts however.
My dealer is Wheel Sport here in Ottawa.
They even got me a grease niple cover for the brake lever because it is not a cosmetic part. It is required to protect the nipple from dirt.
I really think a lot of dealer just could not be bothered to even look because it's not a big sale for them.
