80 vs. 79 Side Cover

I have an '80 XS11 Special that needs a RH side cover. i found one on ebay for a '79 (not sure if it's a special or standard). Are they compatible?

The only part numbers I can find are for an '81 LH, and an '80 LG, but they are the same. I think all the XS's used the same one. It's the XJ where they changed. Please correct me anyone if I am wrong.

All side covers are not created equal!

The 78-79 Standards take the same cover. The 80-81 Standards are different. The 79 Special uses the same right side cover as the 80-81 Standard, but they do not fit on the 80-81 Special. I'm not sure about the left side side of the 79 Special. The 80-81 Specials have their own side covers. Confused yet?

I have some side covers also.
