In the process of getting tuned up I fouled many a plug. A quick shot of carb cleaner on them then a light buff with steel wool (followed by a gap check) has always brought them back so far. Admittedly, they've just been gas/carbon fouled.....oil might cause more problems. I have 3 sets that I rotate. By the time I get back to them they work just fine. I've fouled the same set 2 or 3 times each before I finally got those damnnable carbs right.
I always use NGK, too. If they were good enough for Yammy, they're good enough for me.
