  • Final drive breather removal.

I have an XS that's missing the cap on the final drive breather. My parts bike has a complete breather. Any ideas on how to get them swapped without damaging the good one????

Or any simple ideas for making a new cap would also be appreciated.

    TIA
    HG

I would just remove the complete final drive from the parts bike, and install it on the rider. Remove the rear tire, left shock, and 4 nuts to remove the complete unit. Should only be about 1 hour total time.

Thank's Ray, I had thought of that but the parts bike has been used for some years as a paddock basher. It's even got the knobbly tires on it. Hoping to refit it as a sand dragger one day.

Given the condition and dirt on the driveline the whole thing should be stripped and cleaned before using. Seals are probably knackered.

Tryed to remove the broken one on the weekend but it wouldn't budge. Gave up before I damaged it too much.

Thnk I'll just make a new cover and tig weld it on.
