They should fit. The big thing is no cross over pipe. You will loose a little low/mid range because of it, and you may have just a little "poping" in the mufflers.
Just be carefull, as the two different models of XS have two different length exhaust studs on the heads. The Standard is the long stud, and the special studs are about 1 CM shorter.
    Good LUCK!!

Thanks Ray, yeah, I'm aware of the crossover thing. I don't actually need to replace the system that's on my bike just yet. I'm really only interested in the headers. I've seen stock mufflers advertised on eBay in the past so if I win the headers, I'll just keep checking eBay until I find the stock muffler system.

      Thanks for your reply

No cross-over? They are 4 into 1, I would guess that's quite a bit of cross-over. Nasty dents on the bottom, though this could be repaired. I like the sellers claim these are ready to bolt on and go. Stainless is good. Best of luck.

That set is made by Mac. I have a sey on Foster Child, and I'm not impressed. Maybe if there was a cross over pipe it would sound better.

MAC? Oh dear, I didn't realise that. I thought they were stock.
Mac headers wont fit my bike because of the oil cooler.

I'll just have to hope someone outbids me.

Oops, I had two ebay numbers written down next two each other and they are very simular items. Sorry, but hey, maybe these would fit? I'm going to scratch build some headers and pipes for my '78e.

Oops. I guess I didn't look long enough. At a glance they looked like the Mac's that I have on my 81.

I got outbid anyway, I went to bed like an idiot, I did win a stock left muffler with crossover from the same seller for $10 though so all was not lost.
