    broken headlight switch

The Hi/lo switch broke off (the post the black piece screws onto) my 79 1100sf. I took the switch apart and the collar that holds the post does not appear to be a replaceable part. Tried high strength super glue, gel type, held for awhile but just came off again, did not lose the piece fortunately. Any ideas for a better fix or do I need to get a whole new assembly? Any ideas on where to get one? Thanks

We mix baking powder and super glue at work to get a stronger bond. JB Weld is also an option.

Just find the left switch from most any Yamaha XS on ebay, or salvage yard and rob the sliding part from the new switch, and just insert into your switch housing. Save the rest of the switch assembly for future use.
