Question about exhaust- XS / XJ

Does anyone know if a 4 into 1 exhaust off an XJ will fit on an XS?

Because I found a 2 into 2 (dual exhaust pipes with two cyl. going into each one) system, and didnt know what it fit, just that it was in-line 4 cyl. and it worked.
That makes me think any in-line 4 will fit this 4-1 I have,
any comments welcome, thanks in adavance.

Short answer is yes, the XJ exhuast will fit an XS, with this caveat. The down pipes are no problem. However, the muffler mounts, based on the rear footpeg mounts, differ in location. The XJ mounts are closer to the engine. Your options are to find XS mufflers or suitable replacenments, or plan to modify the XJ muffler mounts to fit the XS location.
