you need to remove the lens assembly
two screws at the bottom of the chrome around the headlight
then inside the headlight housing there is a nut on the inside of the reflector, take the nut off and the reflector will come off
"BUT" that is also what holds the headlight houseing to the headlight ears,
i guess you can replace them with bolts

If you are putting on a frame mount fairing, you will remove the headlight bucket anyway. You may also have to remove the "ears", if they cannot rotate out of the way. To do that, put the bike on the center stand, lift up the frame at the front of the engine, and loosen all the pinch bolts on the triple trees. The forks will slide down, and you should be able to remove the ears, lower the front end of the bike to slide the forks back up(you DID use a jack on the front?) and tighten up the pinch bolts once again.

I dunno Ray, that's a lot of lifting to get the ears off the fork tubes. I had to use a tall clothes line support to throw a rope over to lift one high enough. Removing the upper triple clamp would be easier.
