XS1100 Should I Buy It?

Well I bought it! It starts right up first time every time, but it's got a back fire at low speed. Runs like a striped ape though when you rev it!

.. congratulations on the purchase of your new/old bike. just about everywhere you will go, you will be the only person riding one of these= it's a cool feeling to ride something different than everyone else .. children and small animals will fear you, women will want you and men will hate you, because there bikes are not as cool as yours, and there women want you.
i have the red 79 Special also and i love it.
.. the hissing sound you hear when you turn on the signals, is the points acting funky inside the signal relay [the round cylinder mounted just under the fuse box].

Way to go Da-Bubble

Good cleaning of wire connectors, GROUNDS and fuse holders should alleviate most electrical problems. I still use OEM fuse block on my 80G and have no problems although plan to replace the one on my 80 MNS with one TC sent me (TopCat). Real good fuse box and at the right price too.

I'd check to see that all four cylinders are firing when you first start it, if so then adjust pilot needles, and then sync carbs. Should get rid of back fire.
