I have a serious problem. I have my xj1100 top end apart so I can perform a rebuild, but my head gasket is trashed. I have looked at about 5 different oem parts sites and have only found the gasket to be discontinued. It is also different from the xs1100 head gasket. are there any ways that I could make the xs gasket work???

Do a google on "copper head gasket". There is a company that make pure copper gaskets. I know they had the XS1100, and I think they can make one from your old gasket. They do come in different thicknesses, so you can raise or lower the compression a little as well.
