  • d$mn! spontaneous dent in tank

Noticed a shallow dent on right side of tank on my 79 special, never been there before, no marring of paint, can't figure it out. The tank is not perfect anyway, so maybe I will have it and the side covers profesionally painted. Anyone done this, just wondering what a reasonable price would be for a quality job.

You should be able to pull the dent out without doing anything to the paint. Do a search on "dent removal", and you should be able to find the thread on the "hot glue" methode.
A good paint job will be $500 to $1,500, and go up to $10,000. It depends on what you want, and how much prep work has to be done. I'm doing my own paint, and just materials will be about $400.00 .

You can try this...sometimes works, sometimes can damage the paint.

It's worth a try if you're going to paint it anyway if it doesn't work.
