  • Seat Pans

I know that the standard and the special have two different seat pans, but are there differences between the model years as well?

    Thanks
I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.

I think 80/81 Specials are the same. I expect 79 is different.

There are some minor differences between years. Main problem is location of the TCI box and the accompaning 'bump' in the seatpan.

Kind of on the same subject, I have an 1980 xs11 special. I was going to purchase buckets seats for it and ran into a guy in town admiring the bike, as he had one a few years ago. He has the bucket seat but it's a 79' xs11 (not sure about special).

He is giving it to me free but didn't know if it could be modified to fit good on an 80' model. Anybody know for sure?

It's free as is but needs reupholstered.

        Comments/Suggestions are appreciated.

        Thanks

          Seat pan

I am also needing a seat pan and or seat for a 78 standard. If anyone has one they want to get rid of i am interested. Pan can have surface rust. Seat and or pad does not have to be in good shape. Do not need plastic cover for the tci on the back of it.

          Thanks Tom
