Unless something drastic has happened, tonyj, you probably do not need to replace your petcocks but you may need to rebuild them. If you look through the technical articles down in the repair section, you will find lots of pertinent information for your bike, including a lengthy article specifically on repairing leaky petcocks . Check that out and see if it helps. If not, come back to this thread to tell us what you tried. Tell us what worked, and what didn't, and we can take it to the next level.

Tony,
There is a set of Standard petcocks on ebay. I don't have the number handy, but do a search with " XS 1100" and about 170 hits should come up. I think they were a reasonable price, so go for it. And I would put the rebuild kits in the petcocks, just to be safe.

I do happen to have a real nice match set of 78e standard petcocks with filters and screws. Chrome is good. These move nicely the tank had fuel in it and the petcocks did not leak, It is recommended you take them apart and clean replace anything that is suspect. Came off of a 40,000 mi bike with excellent service record. Price as always includes shipping in continental USA.... For both $35.00 andreashweiss@yahoo.com
