gosh dang caliper dust boots!

I'll tell ya, if it's not one thing it's another! My caliper seals are fine, the pistons are fine, I already bought speed bleeders, I'm putting my caliper back together, and the dustboot is all stretched out and old and won't go back on! $*(@$&#)


ok. rant over. so, can I ride my bike for a little whiles without the dustboot while I'm waiting for the new one to come in? I'm SOO ANXIOUS to get riding, it's not even funny.

I managed to get the dust boot ON, but its sealing about as well as a donut would. Should I A, use a dabby of RTV around the piston lip to stick the seal on 'er, or B, just leave it and hope it blocks the bigger chunks of dirt until I can properly replace it?

I did the same thing with mine. I let the caliper soak too long in brake fluid which distorted the dust boot. Could not make it seal, so I ended up ordering one from parts-n-more. It fit fine, problem solved, lesson learned!!
