HI ALL. THIS IS MY PROBLEM. MY 79 S SOMETIMES WILL STATE FINE. AFTER RIDING IT STARTS MISSING AND THEN CUTS OFF. AT TIMES IT WILL RESTART RIGHT AWAY BUT BE MISSING. THE PICK UPS LOOK OK I DO HAVE A 80 S FOR PARTS I AM GOING TO PUT THE PICK UPS FROM IT TO SEE IF IT MAKES IT BETTER. IS THERE ANY ONE PLACE I SHOULD LOOK TO FIX THIS THANKS ALL

Other things to check.
Running too rich and fuel fouling?
Gas cap breather plugged? Try opening the cap while running.
Inline filter plugged of maybe gunk collected on the petcock's filter tower?
Vacuum hose to the octopus is either not connected or has a bad leak.
Sticking float valve?Skids (Sid Hansen)
Down to one 1978 E. Stock air box with K&N filter, 81H pipes and carbs, 8500 feet elevation. -
it does run rich need new boots. went it cuts off there is no spark . i put a new plug in wire no spark.Joe Bjordahl
