78 Standard 4-1 Exhaust Options

Finally got my 1100 back! She's a beast! I was cruising Friday and the exhaust pipe came off. I was able to find it and get it back home. However I didn't put it back on yet b/c I love the way she sounds without it.

I was told that it wont hurt anything - but it will run better if I put a pipe back on. I love the loud/mean sound and I want to keep it.

I wanted to get some opinions... would it be dumb to remove the baffles from the pipe that I have - how do you think this would sound?

Or should I order an after market pipe that will sound even better and still have the mean sound. If so from where? Can you give me a heads up on where I can order a pipe for my 78 Standard?

.. This is a Kerker header, this my good man is one of the finest 4 into 1 exhaust systems ever made!. the dent at the end can easily be nocked back out and as far as the finish is concerned, you can sand blast and repaint cant you? if this exhaust ends up costing someone 300 bucks[but lets hope not] it would worth it.
these are no longer in production. you can order a new name plate to poprivet back onto the muffler
.. these give real good performance and sound real good too. for the best across the board performance, you will want to leave the baffel alone on this pipe.

are yuo going to bid on the exhaust,

if you was going to buy new there are 2 companyus that i have been looking at really hard and that is mac and jardine and i am looking at the jardine if i go with a new exhaust but the mac is a good pip thats what my bro has on his bike

No I'm n ot going to bid. My pipes are in great shape. To start I'm going to take the baffles out my pipe and see that sounds.

where in ohio are you from i took the baffles out of mine and it is really loud i mean so loud at night i hate to ride it thats why i am putting a 4 into 1 on my bike

i am in middletonw but my bike aint at my place right now or we could meet up and you could hear how loud it is i am in the stages of repainting in right now and then i am putting it back together to go race at tri state a few times this year

i was biding on that exhaust but i lost by 1 dollar looks like i am going to just byu a brand new jardine system

I took my baffle out had to rejet it and it is loud but not that loud and sounds really good if you dont have a faring with a radio I say go for it you can always put them back on.
