Do any of you fellow XSers have a couple lower pipe or crossover pipe gaskets? If someone has a couple extra that they would be willing to turn loose of I'd send you the postage and whatever the 'damages' would be. My 81 Venturer is sucking some wind by one pipe and the cross-over pipe, causing some popping on deceleration. Anyone jump in here, in you could help fill the bill..........Thanks, Brant.

exhaust gaskets.
Yeppers there is John, one in each lower header pipe where they go into collector on muffler and one in the cross-over connection..........trust me, been around these XS's for 25+yrs. Still can get from Yamaha, but thought if someone here had a couple extra they would'nt miss I'd go that direction.......Thanks..........and Oh yes it is the original system, and still shines from cyl. head to muffler tip.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

They are bout 10gauge in thickness and the length of the flared part of pipe, bout an inch John. They are an abestos type material. I had a piece of abestos type strap wrapped around pipe, and shoved the two together(cross-over), then the clamp, but the dern thing won't stay in place, works its way out and is spinnin around on pipe,(besides, it looks tacky hangin' there when it comes out). We'll see if someone here has a couple extra they would turn loose. If you notice on the clamps John, there is an ear bent in towards pipe which goes in slot that keeps stock gaskets from slipping back out.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.
