  • fuel cock assy, hmm

hi, I was lifting the tank on my '80 MNS and on the left side petcock the rear fuel line caught on the peg which extends from the air box (what is that thing for?) I pulled a little too hard and instead of the fuel line popping off the petcock, the metal tube which the fuel line fits over (which is part of the petcock ass'y) popped out of the housing. I was able to shove it back in, but I don't think it is a fuel tight seal.

Is there something I can use to seal the connection, or is it time to find a replacement petcock? Thanks!

You can try a LITTLE JBWeld, or the 2 part fuel tank sealer. Mix it up, and smear a little arount the part that fits into the petcock. Leave the very front of the part bare, so you don't push any into the system.
Should hold for a few years...

Hmm, not sure I quite follow the diagram, but I think I get what you're saying - thanks for the tip!
