i busted a shifting fork probley due to the counter shaft bolt laying in the cluch case, any way i fixed the fork but when i have it on the bench it wont go thru the gears right and dont want to put the motor back in if its not right. so can someone tell is it not going thru the gears because i have it upside down on the bench or did i do somthing wrong? I would be thankfull for any help out there.

Do you have a service manual for XJ or XS11? There is an alignment process for the shifting lever/pawl with the shift drum. If you do a search for Shifter alignment or such, you should find threads with photos explaining this process!
Also, the gears and shift drum don't like to move/work very well with the engine still, so pull the plugs, and then put a wrench on the timing cover plate, and rotate the engine clockwise while actuating the shift lever, and then you can better tell how and if the shifting will work!
