Saddlebag Crash Bars

I have a H with the Vetter bags, and wanted to get some saddlebag crash bars. I have seen them, and bought some that were reported to have come off an xs11 on ebay.

Now, I can't figure out where they are supposed to be fitted onto the bike? Any help?

I will also fess up to the fact these (Despite what the ebay seller sadi) are not off an XS. I am pretty confused looking at it.

You may have a set of bag bars that protected the saddle bag that came from the factory (Pacifico I think). My 'F' came with them, all painted the stock Indigo Blue. Probably won't fit Vetter bags.

I bought them on ebay a few months ago. They were mis-labled as engine case guards, but after some research, it was discovered that thet were indeed luggage guards. They are NOS, OEM in VGC. They can be yours for just what I paid for them ($30) plus S&H.

Before I just give up on mine and buy yours, how can I tell the difference (So as to not get another of the same thing)?

The ones I have are chrome. 14 inches tall and 10 inches wide (Each). They also have a 6 inch bracket that sticks up from one side, which I think is the top.

Could be wrong on that whole "top" thing, tho.

You may be able to install the rear loop bar which goes from rear shock mount down to lower aluminum peg/frame mout piece. There were never any wrap-around pieces made for the Vetter luggage system that I know of, as you would not be able to open the side opening lids on them.

These are supposed (If they are the same as others I have seen) to mount just in front of the bags, behind the passengers' legs.

If they are the loop type, similar the the front crash guards cept a taller loop they mount as I prviously stated.

The detachable vetter bags have (mine do) a chrome trim bar near the bottom, horizontal. Because of the shape, of the vetters, which are fatter at the bottom, the rails that support the hard-mounded system will probably not fit around the vetters. What would the bike look like if you did take out the bags and left the rails in place? Not good IMHO.

Hey Skids...You want 'em? One of them still had the original part number tag from the factory. The tag says it is for a 79SF. I couldn't remember what the application was. They may not fit on Pain's bike.

I can't say for sure if they will fit, but we may be able to test fit them on your bike next week. I am going out of town until Wed, but I'll be around after that. I have a few airboxes that you can pick from.

Have a good trip and let's get together next week on the bars and the airbox.

One thing tho, the bike isn't running yet so maybe I can run them over to Richardson and see if they fit. But the airbox is a go.
