  • Tranny fixed, still not easy shifting.

    OK,

I fixed second gear, Welded up the sprockets with nickel tungsten, regrinded them and undercut them (CNC lathe).

Got the it all back in there, also many thanks to all of you putting the great info on the forum. Still to me she is rough shifting gears.
Especially on the downshifting. If I go down from 4 to second or first, she kind of jams in three. The shift lever just does'nt like to come to it's neutral positon going through thirds. If I tip it up a bit with my foot it is ok so I can downshift again.

The biggest problem is third gear going to second.

    Where to start ??

Thanks for the link, I had the same problem 2 weeks ago when out riding with a bunch of Vulcan riders .... gave them fodder for the next 100 miles. ..... Then I pointed out that in 28 years I would like to see how their bikes are running (said with a big grin of course), they all got kinda quite after that ....
