  • !!!front brake problem!!!

went to dealer on saturday to get tires put on. noticed today after riding hearing a metalic sound as the wheel goes round that if you look head on at the bike the front left caliper activated by the rear brake sits centered on the rotor and is fine. the front caliper on the right side the top of the rotor is putting a groove in the caliper and the caliper is getting grooves from the caliper. it wore 1/16 inch outta the caliper. and i have almost a 1/4 inch on the other side of the slot where it should be cenetered in. if you dont follow what i just said:

    ________
IIII xx IIII IIII = caliper
IIII xx IIII xx = rrotor

    Normal centered in caliper

mine front brake looks like this

    ________
    IIIxx IIIII
    IIIIxx IIIII

its not that bad but as u can see i think them might have installed the axle wrong dont know if thats possible but it never did that b4 and would you think that they would be responsible for the damage to my rotor/caliper

Sounds like your wheel/axle was not reinstalled correctly. The pinch clamp on the right side needs to be loosened up and the fork moved to center the caliper. Most likely the knuckle head dealer mechanic tightened the right pinch clamp then torqued down the axle nut. Get a manual and service your bike yourself. It is your ass riding on the front wheel.

thanx i fixed it after raising a big stink at the dealer. told them i had no front brakes and rolled an intersection. they got so worried asked if theres anything they can do to compensate for the mishap i asked for the front tire balance/change be deducted and a new rotor and caliper. we shall see the manager wasnt in today!
