  • how short are your rear shocks?

i want to lower the ass end. but because of the placement of mounts, too short of a shock would cause me to burn them out faster. yes no?

whats some of the shorter shocks you guys have tried? worked? brand?

i like pics to, if at all possible? i'm a grease-book-monkey.

I lowered the back my 81 SH by buying some shocks that were 11 inches, from eye to eye. I had to get some bar backs or risers, to move the handelbars away from the top of the fork tubes, so I could raise the forks tubes up in the triple clamps.

ya ive got risers in a sort. they drop the handle bars back to me. leaves forks free to move up through the tree.

I ordered a set from JCW a couple of years ago. They said that they were replacments for the XS1100 but are actually for the XS850. They dropped the @ss about an inch. Very comfy...
No problems with the driveshaft. Even two up with all gear. Overloading by about 50 pounds. Still no problems
