    Emulsion Tubes/Needle jets/whatever the heck they're called

    Yes, I'm talking about the things that the needles slide into, that you screw the main jets into. One of mine is stripped but holding - I know it'll only be a matter of time before I HAVE to replace it, but the big problem here is that....

    I can't seem to find new ones - even on bikebandit, I can't find it.

    On mikesxs, they only have them for the 34mm mikuni carbs.

    Any advice?

    LOL... Did it one too many times didn't ya!

    There are lots of cannibalized carbs out there. I'm sure someone has one they will be willing to part with. Good Luck.

      lol - you got it! that's half the reason it's my quote. the other half is that it's my suggestion to fix whatever problem anyone may be having. "My front wheel is wobbling at speed" - TAKE APART YER CARBS!

      But anyhow, these carbs looked like they were worked over by a particularly clumsy gorilla before they even GOT to me, and that particular jet thingie was already cracked at the threads on top... replacing my jets just pushed it a bit farther than it wanted to go, unfortunately.

        If you don't mind a ride down to the beach, you can have one. I have a few extra parts, including '78 and '79 carbs.
        If the parts fit, you can have it.
        Just tell SWMBO that you're going to Santa Cruz for the weekend. Nice ride down, pick up a part, and we can ride some of the back roads.

            Sounds pretty awesome ray - I'll have to do that as soon as the baboon is running again! Thanks for the offer! (this is assuming she works fine as is - I'll know this weekend)

            Randy, I may not be on crack, but I'm pretty close - I had surgery yesterday, so I'm still a little loopy from the general anesthesia, plus some vicodin to top it off.

            *shakes head* 34mm Mikunis... thought I had 32's for some reason.

            so uh, the ones on mikesxs WILL work..??

            Or maybe I'll take a trip to Santa Cruz... I need a good ride to blow the cobwebs out, both out of my bike and outta my head! I love Santa Cruz - one of my fave towns, where I met my SWMBO.

              Kris, there is a number stamped on the tube. You need to match it. Don't remember #.........low on beer.........fading fast......

                Don't worry Randy, we'll get you running again. I think we can find an OLD HD Guy to give you a beer IV.
                It's not quite beer o'clock here yet, but getting close.
                And I do have a spare set of 78 carbs, so they should match. I have almost 3 complete sets, that are spare, so I do have parts.

                  Awesome - Ray, I'll be heading out to your neck of the woods as soon as I get my new MC, and install it. I've now got ALL NEW wheel bearings, NEW tires, NEW air filters, NEW mufflers (which I'm in the process of creating adjustable baffles for), NEW mainjets, NEW pilotjets, NEW sparkplugs, NEW oil, NEW gearoil, and a NEW carbstick to sync with.

                  If after all this I still can't get my bike working, I must be an idiot. :P

                      Ha! Aptos! Damn, DiverRay talk about a trip down memory lane!

                      I grew up in Aptos, 534 Middlefield about 3 blocks from the cliffs and about a half mile from the Seacliff Beach entrance.

                      My dad used to own Cabrillo Chevron, (long demolished) and a donut shop in downtown Soquel right next to Harvey's bar. I went to Mar Vista & Capitola Elementaries.

                      Too much beer fuel and way off topic, the nostalgia factor was too much to resist, thanks for an unintentional trip down happy memory lane.
