    Almost but not quite. The vacuum 'booster' needs to be connected to the metered vacuum orifice that is on the body of carb #2, not to any one of the unmetered four vacuum nipples on the intake manifolds. The four nipples on the intake manifolds are for synchronizing the carbs. Of course, being an XJ, your engine has the YICS gallery which needs to be blocked off with a YICS tool to isolate each carb. Otherwise, the vacuum from another carb manifold screws up the vacuum reading you get for the carb you are trying to set.

      Thanks for the quick reply, I will change it in the morning before it get's too hot. A fellow XJer and Texsive is going to sync the carbs for me with some special tools. I'll keep ya'll posted on how it turns out, the bike was running great until the gas in the airbox thing happened.
