    xj1100 lowering

I just recently picked up an xj1100. love the bike looks sharp and lots of balls. havnt riddne much in a while but the bike feels a bit tall for my inseem. i read the tech article on the xs11 lowering but mine has air shocks do i simply just put less air in them how can i lower the seat to make backing my bike up alot easier?

Letting air out of the shocks won't help much, just make for a soggy ride. I would look around for a set of new traditional shocks which are slightly shorter instead, or re-weld the mounts on the arm. Another option would be to make the seat a bit narrower, because it's wide and you could probably gain an inch of reach by cutting some of the foam from the sides and re-covering. Try removing the seat, then putting some foam packing in it's place to get an idea if it will be worthwhile.
