Haven't considered upgrading the oil cooler. I was planning to put an air dam through the wall in front of the engine out the front. This will create kind of a center console effect below & in the center of the bench seat. Thought that'd be enough. Sounds like I need to rethink that. Thanks for the insight.

        Lever,
I would try to find a way to put at least one fan in that console. You need air blowing over the motor at idle and low speeds, when it can over heat. I would mount the oil cooler BEHIND the engine, so you have the cool air over the heads first, and then cool the oil.
If you pulled the internal alt. on the engine, you could install a fan belt on the right side to power a GM alt. of about 60 to 90 amps, and run two electric fans. have one on all the time, and a second one for when the engine starts to get hot.

Would that be called a "Fairway Flyer" when its done? You could have an issue when you leave 50ft "divots" Ya might wanna thing about fabbing some trackbars for that rear diff. Axle wrap can be ugly. Got a C note says ya never see the top of 5th gear. (and live to tell about it!!!).

Thanks Driver Ray......Sounds like a great way to tackle the problem. I'll take that advice & do it!

Warm sunny days have slowed the project somewhat. Was hard at it when the weather was crappy & there wasn't anything else to do. So, I'll update when I make some actual progress. Would like to finish up this summer but right now it looks questionable.
