Crumbling around tire valve

Hmmm. Never had this happen before. I was working on the XJ1100 and noticed that the rubber around the base of the valve, where it goes into the rim, is starting to crumble, looks like its dried out. I know I need new tires soon but do you think its safe to ride one more day? Got a carb clinic tomorrow in San Jose.

I know it would be AMOR, just needing another opinion would be nice. Could always ride the 750 I guess.
