78 xs1100 Seat

Any seats left??

I have a 1978 XS1100 standard and im looking for a seat for it.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I did buy a seat off ebay its for a special, its in decent condition just some surface rust on the pan. So I'm open to trades.

The seat I have currently is a king and queen type so that would be my first preference. Just need a comfortable seat with a good pan

The seat is $100 + shipping or you can pick it up in Cleveland. I know that seems high, but its less than I got in it between the cost of the seat and the professional reupholstering. I bought it for 2-up riding with my wife, but since we had a kid she doesn't ride anymore. Its only been used twice.
BTW, you need your mounting bolts and bracket as those didn't come with the seat.

Yes, its the same seat thats in the picture. The seat pan is in good condition, though its got a little surface rust on it. I'll take some more pics tomorrow and send them to you.

I have a seat for a 78 E. It is the double bucket (touring) type.

There is some surface rust on the underside of the seatpan. It is not rusted through and the pan is in sound shape. The front mounting tab was broken off and another was fashioned and it holds just fine. The cover is worn and has a few small tears.

All in all the basis of a decent seat.
I got it off Ebay to make a solo/sport seat out of. That project has been cancelled.

I can take a few photos tomorrow if you're interested. It is the same type as the linked photo above (but not as nice)
