Fellow offered to sell me a pair for only $75 EACH. Thought that was nice of him. Guess that is ok if you are doing them one at a time on your lathe but.........

After posting also stumble on the info about Mike's XS. MTL will try a clean AGAIN with the white lith grease and then go to Mikes. Thanks again for the help TC.

        speaking of pistons

what is the best way to clean up the rust on them? steel wool with a light touch? the walls have a few small pits or scores in them. rust around the dust seal rim. wondering how well they will seal if I clean 'em up and reuse...

When I took mine apart, I thought they were toast. Bottom third was rust w/a few pits. Cleaned up with emory cloth and wd40.

Been pleasantly surprised that they work well and don't leak.
