hello to everyone. I'm picking up my 3rd (not at the same time) xs 11 tomorrow. 1980. its pretty ragged out. guy says it ran when he parked it a year ago (don't they all) the clutch or cable is froze, the gas tank is rusted thru..i think I can weld that up, it's missing a left side cover, and it's just generally cruddy.
On the bright side I got it for 200 bucks and it's got hard bags and a pretty decent windjammer fairing. I think I could double my price parting it out on ebay if I had to but...I absolutely love xs elevens.
Found this sight just 10 minutes ago when I got the idea to start searching for parts. You guys sound like you really know your stuff. Get ready for me to bug the crap out of you for info...

    G'day and welcome!
I'm pretty new here as well but I've already scored heaps of very useful info.
Good luck with your project. I've got a 1978 that just started running like a hairy goat so it seems we'll both be busy for a while.

      Showtime,
Check the "Tech Tips" on the left side. They should help with your needs, and answer some of the questions you may have. You can also do a search with a key word to find older threads that may have the questions you want to ask.
Welcome to the site, and enjoy the rides once your running properly.
