    Tough old stickers

I have a parking sticker from a PO that has been on the rear fender since 1982. It's a tough old bugger. Anybody got a suggestion on how to remove it?

Use a blow dryer to soften up the adhesive, peel the sticker off and then acetone or maybe goo-gone to remove what's left.

If it's a painted fender, go lightly on the acetone as it will remove paint if used EXcessively.

Or instead of using Acetone, you could try using some Zippo lighter fluid. works great, and won't remove as much paint.

What about using carb cleaner for a remover?

I STILL maintain Zippo (or Rosonol) ligher fluid.

Carb cleaner might do it, and I doubt it'd harm yer chrome - give it a try! or try some WD-40.

I'm under the impression that pretty much anything petrolium based will destroy most stickums, and I'm hard pressed to think of a petrolium product that can harm chrome. (To my knowledge, anyhow)

            good luck dude!

              Hey Gents,

Carb cleaner worked like a champ. Thanks for the tips.

WD40 removes stickers and decals nicely too

                  Hey Pat,

I have a 79 XS750 that has a couple of stickers on the rear fender, I'll try the WD40 on that one. Thanks.

                    sticker removal

different application same principle. a sawzall and a case of pbr will do wonders for that sticker.
