  • What is this oil seal??

I finally got around to putting on some new crash bars. While I was upside down, holding the wrench on the bottom motormount nut, whilest attempting to tighten by turning the bolt head, I got ahold of the wrong bolt. I snapped off the oil plug that resides just below the ignition case cover. At first, I thought I broke the motormount bolt, but oil was draining out. Anyone know what it is for? There is an Oring around the flange and it is hollow.

    Oh, Great Seal!

    Hey Skids,

I believe it's just the end of the oil galley that is left after they machine the galley, so they put a plug in it!!

TC is right. It is the main oil galley feeding the main bearings. Don't start it up, or you'll have one hell of a mess. Do you have a spare plug? The OEM O ring is still available for Bike Bandit.

I had one from my spare engine, but now the spare engine has a hole that needs plugged.
