The XS11 is back in business. I did a 125 mile loop today. 77 degrees and 26% humidity. I still smashed a lot of bugs.

Yes, 77F in February is not normal, but I don't think it was record breaking. Winter here is short. It certainly isn't over yet.

My "daylight" riding season is almoist over. I expect Mid-March fOaR the temp to be 90 degrees and climbin' by 10 AM. No radiator or oil cooler. ( •_•)

I am blessed with both here. West for straightaways or east for curves.

It looks like a nice ride, not a car in sight.

              That's right! Zero traffic!

I went into the garage this morning and it was filled with gasoline fumes. I could not find any sign of leak. As it turns out, an XS650 got jealous. It started leaking just sitting there.

There's something about riding these old "standard" bikes on dirt roads.... I've ended up with dual sports in the past but somehow I enjoy riding these old upright street bikes on gravel/dirt back roads more.

Had a Suzuki GS 450t with dual sport tires on it, probably the most fun all around bike I've ever had, too bad I looked like a clown riding it.

I often feel that way too. I just don’t care. I would never tell you that you look like a clown on your bike.

I have to make a conscious decision to ride the XS1100. The XS650 sitting there is 100 lbs lighter and easier to ride. It’s just the way it is. Either one puts a grin on my face.

My neighbor has this. I like it. So far, I haven’t been able to get him to ride with me. Maybe it’s just the bike. The apes are a bit sloppy.

Marty, perhaps your neighbor (perhaps not) has a coffee table bike. You simply look at it and take in all it's splendor. Then you talk about riding it with anyone who will listen to your feelings of grandeur. Then you look at it some more. Then you put it away for the winter. Then you take it out on the 5 perfect weather days of the year and really rev that motor when you spy someone that can enjoy how tough you must really look. Then you sell it so it can go into someone else's living room garage. And then you buy a bigger and more expensive coffee table bike because your friends were bored with your old coffee table bike. Everybody knows one of these guys (perhaps many).

Also, tell you neighbor that it's good that he got rid of the banana and went with the GMA. If he doesn't know what your talking about, he's a Credit Card.

No, that’s not him, but he is more about projects than riding motorcycles. It is a noisy shovel, so there may be a bit of truth to the coffee table thing.

I have a few neighbors with Harleys, none of whom seem interested in even a ride to lunch, though they could be busy like me. Or, it could be it’s just me they don’t like.

It used to be that HD riders where every bit as snooty as BMW riders are today when it comes to fraternizing with owners of other brands, that doesn't seem to matter much these days when you're hanging out somewhere along the road with your bike. When those bikes are parked like in the situation here in the campground I'm staying at the HD crowd gets exclusive again.

Long and short of it: Riders are riders and recognize each other as such, posers are and will continue to be posers!
