  • Riding Mississippi!

MaximPhil is here for a visit. He sold his XS11, but maintains his two-wheel lifestyle. My XS1100 is in good operating condition, but I picked a different hammer this weekend.

On Saturday, we circumnavigated Lake Arkabutla, then explored the Mississippi Delta as far as Clarksdale. It was very busy due to the Juke Joint Festival. We did a lot more riding than picture taking.
On Sunday, it was around Lake Sardis with a visit to Oxford. Oxford was crowded due to the Double Decker Festival.

We finished the ride with a stop at Red's BBQ & Blues for some sophisticated dining and entertainment. Another stop before the house for some mud bugs and boudin balls. All that as a warmup to rack chops and mushrooms on the grill and fresh collard greens done by my lovely bride.

I first met Phil at XS East 2007. We've done a lot of miles together since then! I hope for many more!

Thanks Marty, I took even less pictures than you did. Standing beside the Tallahatchie river looking at the new bridge which is higher than the original bridge in the song.

While that is in fact a bridge over the Tallahatchie, the one in Ode to Billie Joe is located in Money, Mississippi.
