    Rush ride

Hey guys, it's 8:30 Thursday evening and I just got a message from RUSH. He's made it from California and has already left Key West Fla heading for Key Largo.
He plans to be here in Jacksonville sometime tomorrow afternoon.
his message was brief with no more details, so I assume that the ride is going great.

      Rush report

Good news, RUSH has made it to Jacksonville just in time to do some service to the bike. Oil change and fluid checks and ready to go again tomorrow.
I'm going to try to post a picture of RUSH and his trusty steed, if it doesn't work, I'll go read the directions and try again.

        RUSH photo

Let's try this one more time.
Here's a photo of RUSH in Jacksonville on his way north to the final corner of his Four corner tour.

Pardon me for reposting this way, Walt, but Photodump did not seem to be happy the way you were trying to link.

            RUSH made it!

I just got a call from RUSH, he's in Maine and has completed the Four Corners Tour! And better yet, he did it with no major problems.

He will be heading home now and said that he will post photos and info when he gets back.

Congratulations RUSH! (And of course the xs.)

                    IM BACK!!
I just got in, and will post more pictures tommorrow and fill in some details. The bike went well exept for the last 1200 miles when a vibration started around 3k rpm. It eventually migrated up to 3750 rpm and got worse. I stopped pushing about 300 miles from home, just close enough to get SWMBO to drive out with the trailer and pick us up. Im thinking its the chain between the motor and tranny or a bearing in that area. Once I decompress I'll start into it.
Thanks for all the support and encouragement. Special thanks to Walt for letting me call with my updates and meeting me in Florida.
Anyone want to do this with me next year??

First bike was an: 1978 XS1100
                    Second bike is an FJR1300.
                    Now I'm restoring a '79 XS1100.

Wow!Madawaska! I grew up in Maine, but I had ever been way up there. I have also been to the four corners, but not on a bike. Fort Kent, Maine, Port Angles, Wa., Marathon Key, Fl., and San Yisidro, Ca. It took me many years to do it though.

Sounds like something I'd like to do. Get in touch with me next year before you start, although we would have to just do a couple of legs together. Living in Georgia, I would probably start mine in Florida, but I could meet you there and ride the last leg of yours to Maine with you, and then scoot over to Washington together on your way home before I had to head down to Cali.

If you mean the "four corners" I used to ride through there in the late 60s. There was an indian lady in a small camping trailer that parked there and sold mutton stew. If she, or more likely her grand daughter, are still there buy some, it's great.
