I posted this on the XS1100 Facebook page, so some of you may have seen it already.
I had a pretty good weekend, rode the FJR to a Victory demo event on Saturday. It was one of the best demo operations I've ever experienced. They took us on a 22 mile loop, so you had time to really check out the bike. I demoed a Victory Octane. I'm not much on the cruiser feet forward riding position, but other than that, there was a lot to like about the Octane. In my estimation, it's all about the engine with that one, lots of torque, and 104 HP.
On Sunday, I went old school and got out the '79 XS1100 Special. I am always amazed at how well that old bike handles. It was a powerhouse in it's day, at 95 HP it is pretty average by modern standards, but still hauls the mail when you whack the throttle open.
All in all it was a lot of fun. This video is a little bit long, but check it out if you like.
