Well today I finally got the Mongrel off the stand... for the first time in almost 2 years..

got it running 2 weeks ago but after shutting it off it wouldn't idle.. knew i had junk in the carbs again..

So today.. in the warm sun, off came those carbs.. and 3 of the 4 jets were plugged.. (insert compressed air here)

i also noticed that 2 of my 4 floats looked like they had concaved .. the float test showed they were quite a bit deeper in the water than the other 2 ... soo back to Rusty for yet another temporary donation..

put the indy filters back on, (boy does that make it easier to get those carbs on and off now..)

and she fired right up.. and purred at 950... rechecked the timing and the bug got me.. grabbed the helmet and off for a bit of a test ride... It was going to dusk out before i was back so i quickly took the 10 mile round trip to the gas station that was a mile away.. What a rush...

Now i gotta finish sync those carbs and stuff.. and i think im now running lean.. great pickup it seems to about 5k then it stutters.. But she's back on the road...

True, but they are good bugs

Now if can just get the little things.. like the stutter at 5200 and some of the other things like, a seat that isn't more duct tape than seat cushion.. etc.

oh and the kids say to add " and helmets for them to ride"..
