This is my 5th bike and first yamaha. im in love for sure i have put about 200 miles on it this month after aquiring it last month. i love motorcycles allways have from mopeds to dirtbike and street bikes. my wife on the other hand was not so excited when i got my xj. i have taken her on a few rides and she seems to like the bike. i work 3rd shift so i sleep during the day. i was woke up early today by my wife. She instructed me to get my butt to the garage to warm up the bike she wanted to go riding. i have allways had to coax her into riding my other bikes with me. she was never real excited about riding. i thought i was dreaming. we put about 50 miles on the bike and she was bummed when i told her we needed to go home for dinner "i was starving". i hope this keeps up for ever. maybe i can express the need for a bigbore kit and some other goodies like a bike for her to ride solo. ok maybe thats wishfull thinking. but this situation works for now.i gotta name this bike but i cant think of a good one. how do all you guys come up with names for your bikes? is there a baby book of motorcycle names out there somewhere?

Hey, great you found a bike that fits you and your other half! Hard to beat that!
The old, and the really old guys on the forum probably have the naming of bikes down to a science, but for me, I sort of wait and see what kind of personality the cycle develops. For example, I call my 1100 "The Dirty Lady".Joab

Great you got SWMBO to ride along with you. Mine will not get near it and forbids me to take the kids on it. My "incident" a couple years ago certainly did not help any.
As to naming, I am sure there is a thread or two on here about how folks came up with their bikes names. Search function does not seem to want to cooperata right now.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

So let me get this straight. You've got a wife that likes to be on the bike, hangs onto you, puts her chest firmly into your back.... and you'd rather have her on her own bike. Have I got this straight?Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!

I have the same problem, trick is to not let her see the speedo, I scare swambo and she doesn't ride with me,and that limits my riding time.FOXS-XS11SG
