    First ride today

I just got most of the bugs worked out of my 81 xs1100h venturer, now for its first ride. The ride is about 20 miles one way, wish me luck!!

You can also play with the preload on the forks. Under the rubber cap at the top you'll find a slotted adjuster. Use a gigantic screwdriver and push down as you turn. Three settings. Full left is softest, full right is stiffest.

Not on an H, it has air shocks like a special, no preload setting. The equivelent to preload is air just like a special, but yes, you can adjust the amount of air, and make sure it's the same in both forks, in my experience having the out of sync can cause issues.
