    All:

I have put a selection of photos from the 2011 California Rally (CaliRally) on a web page at:

    http://www.appleattic.net/toys/calirally.html

I am trying a bit different format; the one chosen giives me a bit larger area to add captions.

Yep, I know...I am in several of the photos. If you want to help right this imbalance, e-mail me your photos and I'll pick and choose some to add to the show!

Please let me know of the typos and other things that might need to be corrected.

    Thanks!

Jerry, good slideshow! I think I liked the picture of the seagull just hanging in the wind the best.

Great photos. The only typo I noticed is that Morro Bay is spelled with two "R's." Vicki and I had a great time and are looking forward to next year.

Nah, it's a Cycle Gear special, imported from our fine friends and adamant allies in Pakistan and probably made from Indian sacred cows.

It's a good jacket, actually, with fairly thick leather that's supposed to keep my skin on me instead of all over the highway if I fall over and go boom. I had another jacket that looked almost exactly like the one I have now but it was much better quality. I had it for about thirty years but it was stolen by some poseur that didn't want to do the years and the miles to break in his own jacket. (shrug) Stuff happens and I'll see it again someday, guaranteed.

I must say that the Pakis must have some strange ideas about how Americans are built because their idea of a motorcycle jacket has a huge belt but fairly short arms. I can carry a 12-pack under my jacket with room to spare but the sleeves are almost too short to go over my gloves.

                  Thanks for sharing, Jerry

Those are some spectacular views of the coast line and the bridges along the way. Looks as you guys and gals had a great time!!
I guess all coastlines have their own particular charm. Yours are beautiful to look at, ours in FL are somewhat boring by comparison, but you can peel off the clothes and jump in the water to cool off without worying about where your manhood went when you get out of the water....

I got mine from the former pres. of the central NY leathernecks...He told me he has had it for a long time waiting to give it to someone deserving, so i wear it proudly and absolutely LOVE it!...Its a Schott NYer. he said he has had it since the 70's said he bought it for 300 at the time...I wear it like its gold...my wife thinks its a "crappy" old jacket, little does she know that the new ones from schott sell for almost $600 new now...If I had that kind of money I'd def. buy another one...an absolutely AWESOME jacket...it has the belt loops so u can add ur own belt if u want...looks just like this

but mine doesn't have a liner, the applets extend all the way up to the collar and is a bit older...and the new one also costs $590 where the old timer only paid 300...I'm just glad i didn't pay for it...the other jacket I have...one that does have the liner, I got for about $150...its a lot warmer with a liner, and i think it would actually protect a little better too having inside elbow pads and re-enforced elbows shoulders and back...however, the down side is the mobility sux the big one...

anyway since this isn't about our jackets I want to say...I LOVE THE PICS and WISH I HAD BEEN THERE!...

Thanks for the comments on the photos. Since XSers and family will be looking at that page, I tried to make a balance of "people" pictures, places, and my personal collection.

Top 3 favorites so far: Coastline near Rocky Creek, Bixby Bridge, shot looking north from the vista point without me in it, and the seagull hovering in mid-air.

                        Thanks again for the comments!

Jerry: I didn't mean to threadjack! All of the pictures came out a lot better than mine did. I got the one ride video and that's about it.

Rodger: I took another vow of poverty last year until my bike stays fixed and runs reliably. I was almost certain everything had finally settled into place (snicker) yesterday so I was going to lose the sackcloth and ashes, then get a haircut and shave before the summer heat at the Durango rally.

Columbo's 750 FD is dying, see the "What did you do to your bike toady?" thread.

G15: The jacket in your picture looks sort of like mine, without the lower loops and stuff for connecting to the pants, but mine has an imprint of a lugnut on the upper right arm just below the shoulder.

As I started to pass an 18 wheeler it ran over a lugnut that was sitting on the road and the trailer tire spit it out like a watermelon seed straight into my arm. I didn't know what in heck happened, I just heard a loud "BANG!" and suddenly my right arm hurt like fire and then went numb so I had to pull over and stop. When I managed to get my jacket off and take a look at it there was an almost perfect imprint of a large lugnut in the leather.
