Dale Turner
Hi, my name is Dale Turner. At 8 years old, I was diagnosed with Leber congenital amaurosis, a rare and sever form of retinitis pigmentosa that occurs from birth. The doctors gave my parents a bleak prognosis that I would be completely blind by the age of 10. Today, at 22, I am the first Canadian to have undergone a new gene therapy treatment that has restored some of my vision.
I am proof that research does work. Eye research makes miracles happen.
Ride for Sight is thrilled to announce that Dale Turner will be attending Ride for Sight celebrations on the weekend of June 19, 20 & 21. Dale will be our special guest at this year’s Kick Off Parade and we’re even putting him on the back of a bike so he can experience the thrill and excitement of our annual motorcycle parade. Dale will travel, for the first time, with thousands of other motorcyclists from our Kick Off location, International Centre in Mississauga, and will join thousands of other motorcyclists along the beautiful scenic Airport Road into Collingwood.
